An Amazing Event! Sodexo Does It Again at the UMES Gala

Sodexo continues to strengthen its relationship with the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES). In addition to participating in campus interview days and having guest speakers present to professional development classes, this year Sodexo lent its support by purchasing a full table at the annual UMES Gala.

This event is the hallmark event on the Eastern Shore. Guests come from across the nation to experience the entertainment and fine dining that only UMES can give. Participation in this event was a joint effort between Sodexo ’s Talent Acquisition Group and the Sodexo Mid-Atlantic Health Care Team. Team members present included Ann Hines, LaShawn Dukes, Derren Thompson (UMES alumnus), Latrice Dixon (UMES alumnus), Reva Campbell (UMES alumnus) and Stephine Randall (UMES alumnus).

More than 400 guests enjoyed a night of entertainment and fine dining. They were able to bid on numerous enticing auction items, as well as dance the night away to some electrifying tunes. A host of 125 hotel & restaurant management students selected, chopped, cooked, plated and served an amazing meal. Over 45 music, gospel and choir students performed throughout the evening. Twenty honors students greeted guests, delivered photos and participated in the auction. An additional ten students performed important tasks from ushering guests to the tables to printing souvenir photos. One lucky UMES hotel restaurant management graduate received a wedding proposal during this enchanting evening.
