Sodexo Celebrates the end of it’s 2007 Internship Program

The 2007 Sodexo Future Leaders Internship Program ended with a bang. On August 14th, interns from across the country, joined with their hosting managers and mentors to celebrate the end of the newly revitalized internship program. For the previous ten weeks interns gained real world experience and got exposure to the ins and outs of contract food service management by working in a variety of stimulating environments on college campuses, health care facilities, corporations and the Sodexo Corporate Headquarters.

Best practices, lessons learned and intern testimonials were all on the agenda. The following quote from one intern is indicative of the overwhelmingly positive experience that Sodexo interns had this summer. “As the title of Pierre Bellon and Emily Borgeaud’s book reads “I’ve Had a Lot of Fun”. I hope that I made as positive an impression on those I had the opportunity to meet and work with as they have made on me. I certainly would love to pursue a career with Sodexo after graduation. Until then, I will continue to use the Core Values of Team Spirit, Service Spirit, and the Spirit of Progress to help make each day a better day.”

Because of the success of this year’s program, the company has plans to almost double its size in 2008. To assist in marketing the program to future interns, Sodexo has hired 14 Student Ambassadors and also enlisted the help of 4 prior interns to be a part of the 2008 Future Leaders Internship Planning Committee.
