Lexington College Scholarship Benefit Supported by Sodexo
By Jeanne Strassburger, Senior Recruiter
On October 25, 2007, Sodexo , along with several food service and hospitality companies throughout the nation, was a proud sponsor of the Lexington College annual Building Scholarships for Service fundraising dinner. Lexington College is a leading women's hospitality management college located in Chicago, Illinois. The College grants a Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) degree in Hospitality Management and an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Hospitality Management. Because of the college’s stellar reputation for producing topnotch industry professionals and Sodexo ’s commitment to diversity and inclusion, supporting this worthwhile event seemed only natural.
The highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Lexington College Award for Excellence, which is given to professionals who embody the mission of Lexington. Last year, Sodexo ’s Chief Diversity Officer, Rohini Anand, received the honor. This year, Lexington honored Mr. David Pfanzelter, Senior Vice President, The Kellogg Company and President, Kellogg Specialty Channels for his commitment to developing younger professionals and his support of women in the hospitality and food service industry. Sodexo was represented at the dinner by Amy Brooks, Jennifer Heth, Sandy Joiner, Jeanne Strassburger and Helen Winter, Senior Recruiters with Sodexo ’s Talent Acquisition Group; Lynette Ervin, Unit Controller and William McKenzie, General Manager at Loyola University Medical Center; and Claudia Wyss, Executive Chef and Chris Gargiulo, General Manager for food services at Northwestern University. The event raised over $250,000 for scholarships.
