Meet William Cephus, Sodexo Senior Services Vice President, System Sales
By Michelle Thomas, Senior Manager, Diversity Recruitment, Sodexo

Before you achieved your current position with Sodexo, what other positions did you hold?

Prior to joining Sodexo, I was the Chief Operating Officer and SVP of Sales and Marketing for a $250-million outsourcing company. I have been an executive for the past 25 years working in various industries. After attending West Texas A&M, I spent 13 years working my way up through the ranks at The Coca-Cola Company. I then switched gears and went into the energy business, working for the Tennessee Valley Authority as Vice President of the Western Region. This was a huge role. Not only did I have P&L responsibility for $1.2 billion in sales and manage 1000 people, I was also the first minority to hold this position. Additionally, I was not even trained as an engineer. Sodexo Sponsors Student BBQ at Cal Poly Pomona
By Collen McKie, Senior Recruiter, Sodexo

On May 13, 2008, Sodexo sponsored a BBQ event for the students in the hospitality program at The Collins School at Cal Poly Pomona. In addition to financial support, the company also provided the expertise of two Executive Chefs from their Health Care and Senior Services divisions. The students gathered around anxiously waiting for the food to be served – many of the students were from the school’s culinary classes who also helped cook and set up – listening to every word from our "experts." Sodexo Chefs Spend Time at Johnson & Wales North Miami
By Anna Hutchinson, Senior Recruiter, Sodexo

Sodexo’s Corporate Services Division Executive Chef Karen George and Area Executive Chef Lynda Bootroyd recently spent time on the campus of Johnson & Wales North Miami. The culinary duo led an innovative discussion for 30 students pursuing degrees in the culinary arts. In addition to providing information about Sodexo’s history and its different business lines, the team offered the students an opportunity to pick their brains about what it is really like to have a career as a chef for this top contract management company. No questions were off limits. As a result of this candid discussion, the students, many of whom had never considered working anywhere other than a restaurant or hotel after college, walked away with a different perspective about contract services, as well as an additional career option to consider.
