Sodexo Sponsors Student BBQ at Cal Poly Pomona
By Collen McKie, Senior Recruiter, Sodexo
On May 13, 2008, Sodexo sponsored a BBQ event for the students in the hospitality program at The Collins School at Cal Poly Pomona. In addition to financial support, the company also provided the expertise of two Executive Chefs from their Health Care and Senior Services divisions. The students gathered around anxiously waiting for the food to be served – many of the students were from the school’s culinary classes who also helped cook and set up – listening to every word from our "experts."
“It was so wonderful to have Sodexo’s full support at this annual event. The best part about working with Sodexo on this BBQ was the close interaction that all the students had with the managers that represented Sodexo. Personally, this event goes down in my books as one of the most memorable events at The Collins School. Because of the excitement and the genuine good hearts of all the managers, they have taught me and shown me how to improve the event,” said Martin Myung, past president of the school’s Hospitality Management Council.
”Approximately 200 students and just about all of our faculty members participated in the event. The event ran so smoothly with the professional help of Sodexo that I am positive another event like this will be the event that students will want to attend at The Collins School before any other.”
