Sodexo and its communities across the country joined together to fight hunger and perhaps set a food-drive world record with its “Cans Across America” program. While the totals are still being counted, Sodexo reached the 270,000-pound mark. Sodexo gained participation from more than 530 U.S. college campuses and more than 200 senior centers and hospitals for this one-day event.
The Campus Services Division of Sodexo worked hard to coordinate collections at various sites across the country. Early calculations indicated these schools below collected the most pounds for Sodexo. The Top 5 Schools include:

“Cans Across America” featured a wonderful opportunity for students to take part in a rewarding experience by donating canned food to help those in need. All food donated through the event is given to local charities in the communities surrounding each participating Sodexo facility.
Steve Brady, president of Sodexo Foundation, found this event captured the true spirit of giving. “ 'Cans Across America' is a wonderful way to combine the energy and enthusiasm of our communities with the STOP Hunger initiatives of our foundation,” said Steve Brady.
