I experienced this first-hand when I recently attended a wedding in New York City. The wedding was held at St. Bartholomew's Church on Park Avenue, and the reception was held next door at the restaurant, Inside Park at St. Bart's. The wedding was beautiful, and the reception was even more memorable with a fabulous meal created by Sodexo Executive Chef Matthew Weingarten, former Chef de Cuisine at Savoy in New York. This was fine dining at its best.

Located in the transformed Great Hall of the Community House at St. Bartholomew's Church, Inside Park at St. Bart's officially opened its fine dining historic doors on September 23, 2008.

Weingarten, who showcases his ever-changing contemporary American menus, is a proponent of local ingredients and sustainable practices and will responsibly source from the local farmers and purveyors whom he has known and worked with for years.

"Being an Executive Chef is the most rewarding and ‘real’ work I can imagine. I am able to create something new every day and put both my triumphs and disasters to sleep every night, only to wake up with endless possibilities again in the morning. As Executive Chef, I am responsible for more than cooking. I am a cook and a manager, and in those roles it is my responsibility to educate and inspire those who work for and with me. I simply love it. And, I truly believe that everyone should eat well, always,” says Weingarten.
