Sustainability: Top of Mind at Sodexo
By Kerry Noone, Marketing Communications Manager
Sodexo was recently ranked among the world’s Top 50 Green Vendors as part of the Black Book’s Best Managed Global Outsourcing Vendors 2009 study. This study explored new trends and factors that impact outsourcing management. The study also looked into such factors as how economic conditions contribute to making the most environmentally-friendly suppliers. Research examined organizational priorities, budget constraints, option scarcity, the use of contractors to minimize energy consumption, and perceptions of corporate responsibility.
Sodexo is committed to sustainability and the environment. Our ability to promote the well-being of people and the planet is possible through the work we do in partnership with our clients. The hospitals, businesses, schools, universities, recreational destinations and government facilities we serve provide us with the opportunity to promote sustainable development in communities across North America.
"Together with our clients and customers, we’re on a continuing and determined path to reduce the impact of waste on our earth and environment, provide nutritious food and support local economies, conduct our business ethically, take care of our employees respectfully and give them opportunities to grow, give back to the communities we serve, and act as a positive force for social change,” said Sodexo President and CEO George Chavel.
