Sodexo Blazing a Path into the Energy Management Sector
By Scott Sherman, Recruitment Manager, Facilities Services & IT
As you may know, Sodexo has a history of offering solid facilities management services to our customers. Now, we are expanding our offerings to include specializations in energy management.
Sodexo’s Energy Initiative focuses on providing our clients in all markets with energy solutions aimed at reducing energy consumption. Examples of some of these solutions include analyzing client facilities to inspect windows, lighting, heating and cooling systems, insulation and the overall efficiency of the buildings to identify inefficient systems to replace or operate more efficiently. Additional solutions may include diversifying client energy sources, including alternative options such as geothermal and solar.
Building this new energy segment within Sodexo requires hiring a highly qualified team of energy engineering professionals, including a Vice President of Energy Management, an Energy Field Team, an Energy Project Team and an Energy Sales Team.
Throughout the process, we’ll be looking for individuals with skills and experience in infrastructure and renewal construction (including heating and cooling systems, HVAC, industrial utilities, window and lighting retrofits), facilities engineering, plant operations management, energy audits and utility analysis. Many of the positions will seek a degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Adding specializations in energy management is part of a larger initiative called Sodexo’s Quality of Daily Life Solutions. As a result, new positions that span multiple skill sets, including Facilities Engineering, Product Development, Marketing, Sales, Safety, Compliance and Information Systems and Technology, will be posted to our Career Center in the coming months.
